Babylon Beauty - Better Boxwood - 2.5 Quart

Size

Babylon Beauty™ Boxwood offers a fresh take on evergreen structure, with light green foliage and a naturally low, spreading habit. When allowed to grow with minimal shaping, its dense branches reach outward to create a broad, polished layer—ideal for softening garden beds, forming informal low hedges, or anchoring foundation plantings with year-round color. This Better Boxwood® selection shines where a wide, cohesive shrub can tie a planting together or create a lush lower layer in front of taller companions. Give Babylon Beauty room to reach its full width so you can appreciate its graceful form without needing to trim branches away from paths or nearby plants. Boxwoods are toxic to dogs, cats, and horses if eaten. Place this shrub where animals cannot chew it. Bred for Boxwood Blight Resistance Babylon Beauty comes from the Better Boxwood breeding program, where selections are tested for improved resistance to boxwood blight. While this resistance helps reduce risk, it does not make the plant immune. Support healthy growth by ensuring good drainage and airflow, watering at the base, and monitoring plant health as part of your regular care routine. Using Babylon Beauty in the Landscape Low Hedges and Borders Let Babylon Beauty define a garden bed or create an informal low hedge where its branches have space to spread naturally. When planting along paths, set shrubs far enough back so mature growth stays clear of walkways, keeping the look tidy and inviting. Mass Planting and Landscape Layers Plant Babylon Beauty in repeating groups to weave an unbroken layer of evergreen foliage across the bed. Its broad, spreading habit fills the space beneath taller shrubs and brings structure to mixed plantings. Foundation Planting Choose foundation beds that can showcase Babylon Beauty’s mature width. Leave room beside siding, windows, and access points, and consider how neighboring plants will grow over time to keep the planting balanced and accessible. Outdoor Containers Showcase Babylon Beauty’s spreading form in a large outdoor container on a patio or terrace. Select a pot with drainage and ample space for roots to develop. Keep in mind that the nursery container size reflects the plant you receive, while mature dimensions describe its full landscape potential.
