Decadence® Dark Chocolate False Indigo

This perennial produces alluring chocolate purple flowers on upright stems that extend above its blue-green foliage in late spring to early summer. No deadheading is necessary. The flowers produce attractive seed pods that will add interest to your garden in the fall. This plant is more compact than some other varieties of false indigo making it a good choice for small urban gardens. This long-lived plant can be used as a specimen plant, in small groups or behind shorter plants in a perennial or mixed shrub border garden. This plant was bred by Hans Hansen. Decadence Dark Chocolate False Indigo Care Decadence Dark Chocolate False Indigo can be grown in full sun or partial shade conditions in USDA hardiness zones 4 to 9. Its both salt and drought tolerant, deer and rabbit resistant and attracts butterflies and bees. It will grow to 30 to 36 inches in height with a 2-foot spread at maturity. Decadence Dark Chocolate False Indigo Spacing Space multiple plants at least 36 inches apart, center on center. These can also be grown in most medium sized planters, that can accomodate plants 36 inches wide.
