Kaleidoscope™ Orchid Flash Hardy Ice Plant

Size

Large, profuse flowers always get lots of attention, and the Kaleidoscope™ Orchid Flash Hardy Ice Plant delivers. Daisy-like blooms have dark pinkish-lavender petals. The long, thin petals are evenly spaced, creating a full flower. The Delosperma hybrid 'Orchid Flash' is a prolific bloomer, and the plant will be overtaken with flowers during the spring and summer. Thicky, fleshy leaves provide added texture but are often obscured by the large flowers. Use this lovely flowering plant in a landscape or to add a burst of color to a container. The low form and spreading growth habit make the Kaleidoscope™ Orchid Flash Hardy Ice Plant an excellent ground cover. Ice Plants are adaptable and can handle chilly spring and hot summer weather. As a succulent, the Kaleidoscope™ Orchid Flash Hardy Ice Plant is drought tolerant, making it a low-maintenance addition to a landscape. Kaleidoscope™ Orchid Flash Hardy Ice Plant Care Grow Ice Plants in full sun using loamy, well-drained soil. These succulents dislike wet feet, so drainage is vital. Water Ice Plants every few weeks, depending on rainfall. Increase watering during an extended dry spell. The Kaleidoscope™ Orchid Flash Hardy Ice Plant is drought tolerant once established, but avoid letting the plants dry out too much because that may impact flowering. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in the spring. Trim leggy growth to maintain a bushy appearance. A rejuvenating prune will encourage another flush of blooms and extend the flower cycle. Kaleidoscope™ Orchid Flash Hardy Ice Plant Spacing The Kaleidoscope™ Orchid Flash Hardy Ice Plant reaches 2 to 4 inches tall and 20 to 24 inches wide. Space plants 20 to 24 inches apart when creating a dense planting.
