Sugar Buzz™ Bubblegum Blast Bee Balm Care To perform best, this Sugar Buzz™ Bubblegum Blast Bee Balm should be planted in full sun, although it can tolerate a little shade. It is adaptable to most soil types, but prefers to be grown in fertile and moist but well-drained soil if given a choice. With a requirement for consistent moisture, regular water is required on planting and ongoing. When grown in moderately fertile soil, Bee Balms do not generally need any extra fertilization. However, in poor soils or when grown in a container, a light application of a general fertilizer can be added in early spring. To encourage its punchy pink blooms to reemerge, any fading flowers can be removed as they start to go over. In late fall or winter, when the foliage has died back, the stems can be cut down to just above soil level and removed.
